Located at the geographic center of the United States, St. Louis is easily accessible and eminently enjoyable. Our heartland location makes it possible for visitors to fly to St. Louis from most major U.S. cities in three hours or less. On average, there are more than 250 daily departures from St. Louis to 75 non-stop domestic and international destinations. St. Louis Lambert International Airport is situated a quick 13 miles from downtown St. Louis and is connected to much of the region by MetroLink light rail, which has been named one of the best mass transit systems in the country. The rail system offers multiple lines and stops through St. Louis City and County as well as the Metro East, stopping at or near many of St. Louis' top destinations, including Busch Stadium, Union Station, Forest Park, the Gateway Arch and the Convention Center, which connects visitors with the America's Center Convention Complex. There are plenty of other transportation options in St. Louis as well. Airport shuttle service is available. Taxi companies maintain stands at the airport and Lyft and Uber both operate throughout the St. Louis area.

Renovations have redefined St. Louis Union Station. Visitors get a bird’s-eye view of the train shed and the iconic St. Louis skyline when they board the 200-foot St. Louis Wheel. Open year-round, the observation wheel features 42 enclosed gondolas, each equipped with seating for eight adults. And if folks are in the mood to splurge, one special “VIP” gondola has leather bucket seats, a stereo system and a glass floor.
