Why Choose Our Destination?

Location, value, and rich experiences for your attendees make Cumberland Valley, PA an outstanding choice for your next meeting or off-site session. Cumberland Valley is located at the intersection of Interstate 81, I-76, I-83 and US 11/15, enabling you to draw attendees from more than six major urban markets with direct, uncongested highway access to a centralized location. Cumberland Valley is the hub of the Gettysburg, Hershey and Lancaster regions and within one to two hours of every major city on the Northeast Corridor including New York, Philadelphia, D.C. and Baltimore. For attendees flying in, Harrisburg International Airport (HIA) is a new, state-of-the-art airport less than 30 minutes away. Carlisle, a historic town located in the middle of Cumberland Valley, was one of the first communities to receive the prestigious Preserve America designation and has some of America’s most notable institutions, among them the U.S. Army War College, Dickinson College, the Army Heritage & Education Center and King’s Gap Environmental Education and Training Center on top of South Mountain. Carlisle is also known as America’s Automotive Hometown™, thanks to the more than 500,000 visitors who come each year to see the world-renowned Carlisle car shows. If you are looking for an outside retreat, you’re sure to find it here: the home to some of the most beautiful outdoor recreational areas in the Northeast, world-renowned fly-fishing streams, the halfway point of the famed Appalachian Trail and state parks which offer guests a chance to unwind, relax, swim, hike and more. Cumberland Valley offers meeting options that are affordable compared to a major city – but with the amenities and sophistication your attendees expect. The meeting facilities available include two state-of-the-art academic conference centers, a glass-walled exposition center, riverside restaurants and award-winning hotels.
