Columbus, the 14th largest city in the United States as well as the largest and fastest-growing city in Ohio, is a smart and open community with a dynamic convention package that can fit the needs of any group. At the heart of Columbus’ burgeoning downtown, lively urban entertainment districts and diverse array of welcoming neighborhoods, sits the 1.8-million-sq.-ft. Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC). In July 2017, the GCCC completed a $140 million renovation and expansion project, highlighted by 373,000 sq. ft. of contiguous exhibit space. There are 5,000 rooms available downtown with 2,700 rooms connected/adjacent to the convention center. The newly 468-room expansion of the Hilton Columbus Downtown added 1,000-rooms connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center. There are approximately 33,000 hotel rooms citywide. Columbus is home to four Fortune 500 companies, including Bath & Body Works, American Electric Power, Nationwide and Cardinal Health. Other major corporate headquarters of note in Columbus include Abercrombie & Fitch, DSW, Express, Hexion, Huntington, Mettler-Toledo, Red Roof Inn, Rogue Fitness, Safelite, Scotts, Wendy’s, White Castle and Worthington Industries.

Columbus is within 550 miles, just a one-day drive or one-hour flight, from nearly half of the U.S. population.Major carriers that service serve John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) are: Southwest, American, Delta, United, Spirit, Frontier and Air Canada. OneJet, Spirit Airlines and Alaska Airlines also service John Glenn International. More than 150 daily flights currently depart CMH to 50+ destinations nonstop. John Glenn International is just eight miles, or 10 minutes, from downtown. Taxis and ride-sharing services are available at the airport, as well as the AirConnect express circulator that stops at the convention center and downtown hotels. Five highways run through the city, including two major interstate highways, I-70 and I-71, making it easy to get downtown from any direction.

Just steps from the Greater Columbus Convention Center is the hip and always lively Short North Arts District. Named among the greatest places in America in 2019 by the American Planning Association, metal arches span High Street from one end of the district to the other, featuring color-changing, fiber-optic lights at night. The Short North is heavily populated with hundreds of art galleries, boutiques and specialty shops, local restaurants and bars, home décor retailers and more. Known as the "art and soul" of Columbus for it's cool galleries and one-of-a-kind boutiques, the area is also home to some of Columbus' best-known local dining, including Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and many concepts by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. Most of its tightly packed brick buildings date from at least the early 20th century, with many flaunting brightly painted murals. The bustling neighborhood hosts Gallery Hops the first Saturday of every month, when businesses stay open late and large numbers of revelers hit the sidewalks. The Short North also hosts what Fox News called "one of the country's coolest and most fashionable costume parties," HighBall Halloween. The wildly popular HighBall celebrates the art of design and masquerade.

Scioto Mile

An urban oasis of outdoor recreation, the Scioto Mile offers more than 175 acres of lush parkland and approximately four miles of trails for biking and running. Stretching along the Scioto River from the vibrant Arena District to the natural beauty of Whittier Peninsula, the Scioto Mile connects downtown to the Scioto Peninsula on the river's west bank through an integrated system of parks, boulevards, bikeways and pedestrian paths. In addition to porch swings, benches and free Wi-Fi, at the southern end of the Mile, Bicentennial Park features an amphitheater offering free concerts and movies and Milestone 229 for casual dining with a great view of a stunning 15,000 square foot interactive fountain with more than 1,000 jets of water. Any journey along the mile ends at the 12-acre Scioto Audubon, which offers the country's largest free outdoor climbing wall in addition to being a magnet for shore birds and birds of prey.

National Veterans Memorial and Museum

The National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM) is the only place in the country where the stories of our veterans, their families and the Fallen – across all branches of service and all eras of conflict – are told together. At more than 50,000 sq. ft., the facility offers space for gatherings, ceremonies, celebrations and public events; opportunities for reflection in the Memorial Grove and Memorial Room; and exhibition galleries, both rotating and permanent, to learn more about the experiences of the brave men and women who serve and have served. Host of ASAE's 2019 Annual Meeting & Exposition, the 1.8-million-sq.-ft. Greater Columbus Convention Center offers 373,000 sq. ft. of contiguous exhibit space. Arena District

Energetic crowds flock nightly to Columbus' Arena District, just across High Street from the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The popular entertainment district houses Nationwide Arena, home to NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, and is a regular host of big-name concert acts and events, such as the 2018 NCAA Women's Final Four. Triple-A's Columbus Clippers, farm team to the Cleveland Indians, play in the nearby Huntington Park, which was named "Ballpark of the Year" four times in its first six years of operation, even beating out the new Yankee Stadium and Citi Field in its first Year. By summer 2021, the area will also house MLS' Columbus Crew SC in a brand-new stadium. The area is also a regular hangout of live-music lovers. Columbus' beer scene is booming at nearly 40 craft breweries available to experience. Visitors are encouraged to easily taste all the city has to offer on the Columbus Ale Trail. Participation is easy; just pick up a passport at at any participating location, many of which are conveniently located within walking distance of the GCCC or just off the free CBUS circulator route, then patronize at least four establishments featured on the passport, get a stamp and redeem at an Experience Columbus Visitor Center to claim a free souvenir of the expedition.
