The highest mountain lift in Austria can be found at the rear end of Pitztal Valley, more precisely, it leads up to Hinterer Brunnenkogel peak at 3440 m. From this panoramic spot you enjoy memorable vistas of Tirol’s highest mountain, Wildspitze summit (3774 m) – therefore the builders called it Wildspitz-Bahn mountain lift. The architecturally interesting, top modern construction of both the valley station and the top station of this uphill facility is a magnet for skiers as well as for all those who want to visit the scenic region of Pitztal Glacier in the most comfortable way – in summer and winter alike! The icing on the cake, however, is the splendid “Café 3.440”. The top station of Wildspitzbahn mountain lift, which reminds of a natural snow cornice, is home to Austria’s highest coffee house. And all those who already know the coffee house culture and tradition in Vienna can expect truly high standards here. All expectations are certainly fulfilled, even if the preparation of Sachertorte cake and apple strudel is not an easy thing at this high altitude but the kitchen team uses some secret tricks to achieve the usual taste. However, the excellent pastry chefs of Pitztal Glacier know exactly what they do. Additionally, guests indulge in endless sunshine on the almost freely floating terrace that offers splendid views of 50 peaks higher than three thousand meter – even more enjoyment is hardly possible.
