Guangzhou Flower City Square is located in the Central Axis in Zhujiang New Zone. The area of this square is 560,000 square meters, about 8 to 10 times than the People Square. It’s now the largest square in Guangzhou. Mall of the World is the code area of Flower City Square. It is a new landmark of Guangzhou integrating shopping, dining and entertaining together. The sparkling lights on both banks of the river and the moon reflecting on its waters create a magical atmosphere. Guangdong Museum，a comprehensive museum with collection of over 160,000 pieces (sets)， was open to the public on October 1st, 1959. In 2003, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province decided to build a new building for Guangdong Museum in Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou. On May 18th , 2010, the brand-new Guangdong Museum started to welcome visitors. The new building covers an area of 41,027㎡ with construction area of 66,980㎡ and display area of 21,000㎡. It looks like a delicate ancient openwork container of treasures. Permanent exhibitions in terms of Guangdong History and Culture, Guangdong Natural Resource and arts (such as the Duan inkstone, Chaozhou Woodcarving and Pottery and Porcelain) as well as temporary exhibitions are exhibited in it. Furthermore, perfect infrastructure and management systems will enable the Guangdong Museum to be a modernized large-scale comprehensive museum, top-ranking in the nation and advanced in the world.

In April 2002 an international architectural competition attracted Coop Himmelb(l)au, Rem Koolhaas and Zaha Hadid – each producing detailed designs.In November 2002, Zaha Hadid's "double pebble" was announced the winner and the groundbreaking ceremony was held early in 2005. The theatre has become the biggest performing centre in southern China and is one of the three biggest theatres in the nation alongside Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts and Shanghai's Shanghai Grand Theatre. May 2010 saw American filmmaker Shahar Stroh direct the premiere production of the opera house: Puccini's opera Turandot[1] which had in previous years been a controversial opera in China.
