Following an audacious $19 million dollar renovation, Mondrian Los Angeles debuts its highly-anticipated new hotel redesign. The ever-inspiring luxury hotel, nestled atop the hills of West Hollywood, features 236 redesigned rooms, including its signature Skyview Loft and Penthouse, complete with a new lobby and meeting rooms. Guests will enter an enchanted haven of unparalleled wonder and perpetual possibility at sbe’s Mondrian Los Angeles. Expect a guest experience that allows an escape from reality where one can revel in the comforts of one of Mondrian's new spacious accommodations with floor-to-ceiling windows, luxuriously appointed marble bathrooms, and 24-hour room service. Sticking with the whimsical theme of the hotel, the redesign pulls inspiration from the Alice and Wonderland fantasyland combined with the timeless nostalgia of old Hollywood glamour inspired by the film LaLa Land, meant to incorporate wonder and mystery, while creating an inviting, comfortable hotel experience for guests. The newly designed rooms will invite guests to step through a modern-day looking glass and into a sleek and contemporary room with just a touch of whimsy and notice. A soft color palette with hints of blue will evoke the bright, airy and sunny skies of Los Angeles. The glowing mirrors and light fixtures will conjure the flashing bulbs of the paparazzi, aimed to put guests directly into the spotlight and into the comfort and forefront of their stay. As they enter, they will find themselves tumbling into Wonderland alongside an art installation featuring a cosmopolitan woman falling through space. The White Rabbit is channeled through bunny ear inspired hanging light fixtures. Black and white checkerboard patterns play with the scale in the room, making guests unsure of their size within the space. A larger-than-life film of iridescent dragonfly wings are splashed across the mirror overlooking the seating area. These scale pieces serve to showcase how small and large one can feel in Los Angeles, a form of escape from the bustling city streets. Guests can wander the labyrinth maze within the pattern of the area rug. Playing off the Wonderland garden, a mushroom-shaped side chair and ottoman in the lounge reflects the undertones and organic feeling of a personal Eden. Harkening back to Phillipe Starck’s original design, an aubergine chair serves as an ode to Mondrian’s original designer. A teapot-inspired Capollini chair from Milan captures the satire and inspiration of a mad hatter tea party, a tongue-in-cheek element that complements the overall joyfulness yet a form of comfort throughout. The lighting fixtures, which look curiously like rabbit ears, overlook the brand-new bed design that is draped in a signature blue and backed by swirling wallpaper, close to heart to the famed Wonderland heroine. New bathroom designs provide a more European aesthetic that is sleek, clean quality, yet warm, airy and dramatic with new imported wall coverings and bathroom tile. Overall, guests will find a choreographed experience and a design detailed for them to discover the adventure, mystery and magic of wonderland for themselves. Mondrian Los Angeles' new sand and sea inspired restaurant, Casa Madera, brings the Mayan Riviera to the Sunset Strip. Surrounded by sweeping views of Los Angeles, experience coastal Mexican cuisine paired with high-energy dining and entertainment. Within the transportive bright and airy retreat adorned with lush greenery, find a chef-driven menu that speaks to Noble 33's core tenants – serving inventive, bold flavors built on sustainable, organic fare, using only the freshest ingredients coupled with a diverse array of vegan and gluten-free options.
