About us
Originally built in the 17th century, Candacraig is a baronial mansion enlarged in 1836 by the same architect that built the neighbouring Balmoral Castle owned by the Royal family. It has been extended several times over the years and was partially reconstructed in 1955 retaining its Scottish style. The current owners Lynne & Marc Lino, bought the property in 2014 from Sir Billy Connolly a famous comedian/actor who owned the property for 15 years. Prior to this Candacraig was owned by the founders of the Body Shop chain Anita and Gordon Roddick. Considerable investment has recently been made into the interior redesign of this stunning property including an environmentally friendly biomass heating system throughout and magnificent chefs kitchen. Guests enjoy private, exclusive use offering 12 ensuite bedrooms, an impressive formal Dining Room, Drawing Room, Games/ Billiard Room with a full size snooker table, and the guests favourite Whisky Library. Outdoors there are 18 acres of private woodland and manicured lawns, including a large Victorian walled garden with beautiful flowers and trees, a lochan fed by the celebrated River Don and a woodland bonfire area – a very special spot to enjoy a drink by the fire. Exploring the lavish grounds you will find one magical setting after another– exclusively yours to enjoy during your stay.

BOOKING INFORMATION 50% Deposit required to confirm the booking. Remaining 50% of rental required 30 days prior to arrival. A credit card is taken one week prior to arrival to pay for any extras during the stay. CANCELLATION POLICY If cancelled more than 90 days before the stay, 50% of rental payable to Candacraig If cancelled less than 90 days, 100% payable unless Candacraig are able to re-let the dates. It is recommended that Cancellation Insurance be taken out by The Client.
