In 2011, Condé Nast Traveler World Saver Award recognised Spier as the top international destination ‘Doing it All’. We are one of 38 WWF Conservation Champions, and our cellar has FSSC 22000 certification, is Fair Trade accredited, organically certified and follows the Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) criteria. Spier Hotel was awarded gold at the African Responsible Tourism Awards 2016 in the category of Best for Accommodation for Responsible Employment. Spier won gold in the "Responsible Business" category at the 2020 Inspirational Africa Responsible Tourism Awards, with judges recognising our commitment to doing good through learning, through investing in Growing for Good, a range of learning initiatives that empower communities to make positive social and environmental change.
