The Hermann Hesse Museum was established in the rooms of the Torre Camuzzi, in Montagnola, Switzerland in 1997. This ancient tower is part of the picturesque Casa Camuzzi where Hermann Hesse lived between 1919 and 1931. From his apartment, he had a marvelous view overlooking the lake of Lugano.

Swissminiatur is an open-air museum / park where you can admire the most important Swiss buildings and transportation. The Park covers 14,000 m² and is embellished with 1500 plants and over 10,000 flowers of every color, whilst children will enjoy the playground containing swings, slides and games of every type. It is a must see attraction for everyone visiting Switzerland.

The Monte San Salvatore (912 m.a.m.s.l.) rises majestically above Lugano, dominating the skyline and offering incomparable sceneries over Lake Ceresio, the Lombard plain and the breathtaking Swiss and Savoy Alps. The rooftop of the church is a great vantage point, offering a spectacular 360° view. The site is enchanting thanks to its restaurant with a veranda and panoramic terrace, where you can combine gastronomic pleasures with relaxing moments.

Since the year 2000, the Castle and defensive walls of Bellinzona have been on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Bellinzona’s castles are considered amongst the finest examples of medieval fortification architecture in Switzerland. As they appear today, the fortifications, whose origins actually go much further back to a prehistoric settlement on Castelgrande hill, are mainly the result of intensive and complex building activity instigated by the Dukes of Milan in the 15th century. Right up to the present day, these fortifications, with their battlements, towers and gates, continue to be a source of wonder and fascination.

The Monte Brè Cable Car opened in 1908. It was intended as a means of offering the inhabitants of Lugano a summer village where they could enjoy the fresh air, pleasant walks and spectacular views. It connects the centre of Lugano to the summit of Monte Brè in little more than 10 minutes, rising 629 metres along a route 1,599 metres in length. From Monte Brè, the sunniest mountain in Switzerland, you can admire the majesty of Monte Rosa and the Bernese and Valais Alps, and after a short walk, you discover the hamlet of Brè with its unusual street furniture. In 2007, Lugano City Council became the majority shareholder in the company, with the aim of promoting an area that is not only unique for its type but also a symbol of the city itself and its tourism.
