BCA ZOO IS LOCATED WITHIN A SMALL PART OF THE COLLEGE’S BEAUTIFUL 400-ACRE CAMPUS. THE ZOO HAS HISTORICALLY BEEN KNOWN AS THE BCA ANIMAL MANAGEMENT CENTRE, AS ITS PRIMARY USE WAS AS A TRAINING FACILITY FOR THOSE STUDENTS ENROLLED ONTO THE VARIOUS ANIMAL MANAGEMENT COURSES THAT THE COLLEGE OFFERS. THE ZOO IS STILL (AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE) A HIGHLY REGARDED PRACTICAL TRAINING RESOURCE FOR OUR STUDENTS. IT PROVIDES OUR STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN AND DEVELOP PRACTICAL SKILLS THAT ARE SO ESSENTIAL FOR MAKING IT IN THE ANIMAL INDUSTRY.

Do you or your family get a kick out of solving puzzles, or are you fascinated by learning how things work? If so then you’ll love The Look Out Discovery Centre. This hands-on science exhibition and nature exhibition has over 90 activities suitable for children of all ages, spread over five zones. Launch a rocket or set off a hot air balloon in the Forces and Movement Zone. Learn the mysteries of the human body and brain in the Body and Perception Zone by testing speed and reflex; play with laser beams in the Light and Colour Zone, step outside to discover local wildlife in the Woodland and Water Zone and, finally, join the Look Out construction crew in the Build it! Zone. Outdoors there’s an adventure play area, forest walks and nature trails that span 1,000 hectares of woodland that are perfect to explore by bike or foot. The infant play trail is ideal for ages 3-6 with its massive fort in the middle! All walks are fully signposted with full distances and highlights so you can pick the right one for you. No trip to Windsor could possibly be complete without a visit to amazing Windsor Castle, the family home to British kings and queens for over 1,000 years and today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King. The size of the Castle (over 10.5 hectares) is breathtaking, in fact it is the largest and oldest occupied Castle in the world.

California Country Park is a 100-acre country park covering Long Moor in the north of the civil parish of Finchampstead in the English county of Berkshire.

Once an important Tudor palace, this atmospheric mansion has some illustrious connections, from Henry VIII to Jane Austen. A major compliance project is taking place at The Vyne. This project will bring changes to the visitor experience throughout the year. Outside, acres of wildlife-rich gardens, meadows and woods create a wonderful space for relaxation and exploration, while the play space gives children freedom to let their imaginations take them on fantasy adventures. Sweeping lawns offer lakeside picnicking, and a short stroll reveals a cosy bird hide overlooking the water meadows.

The Cole Museum of Zoology is owned and managed by the University of Reading. It was established by Professor Francis Cole in 1906 when the University was known as University College Reading. The Cole Museum of Zoology represents a snapshot of animal diversity in the early 20th century and has always been used to teach zoology and comparative anatomy. The Museum is home to thousands of specimens of great zoological significance, including taxidermy, skeletons, histological preparations, fluid-preserved dissections, fossil material, casts, and some superb models of developmental stages and extinct animals.
