Wat Chedi Luang or Chedi Luang Temple is a prehistoric site constructed in 1401. The temple contains a large pagoda with a height of 86 meters, which was then destroyed during earthquake in 1545. The pagoda remains damaged until it was reconstructed during 1991 until 1992.

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

Chiang Mai is home to approximately 300 wats (temples). One of the best-known is Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, said to house a relic of the Buddha. Legend states that it is the Buddha’s shoulder bone, which was carried to the site by a white elephant.
