Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street

This gothic-style church was redesignated a National Treasure as the oldest existing church structure in Japan after undergoing repairs following damage from the atomic bomb. Additionally, it is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, “Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region and Amakusa.

Centered around the Former Glover Residence, a nationally designated important Cultural Property, Western-style houses from the Meiji Period that were scattered throughout the city have been relocated and restored here. The location with panoramic view of Nagasaki port is a point of pride.

Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of Japan’s “Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution”, recognizing its historical significance. It can be visited on guided tours, offering a unique glimpse into Japan’s industrial past and its hauntingly beautiful ruins.
