The Pilbeam Theatre is Central Queensland’s performing arts centre – featuring national and international touring acts, local theatrical and musical productions and everything in between. Located on the riverfront on Rockhampton’s Victoria Parade, the theatre provides regional access to arts and theatre, music and comedy lovers, school groups, children, and retirees.

Kershaw Gardens has been described as Rockhampton’s big back yard for all people to enjoy. Located on Denison Street between Archer and Cambridge Streets, the museum features a restored Purrey Steam Tram, incorporating parts of one of the original nine tramcars and six trailers that operated in Rockhampton (1909 to 1939). Built in the 1890’s, the museum can boast its true heritage with its renovated classic trains. With its state-of-the-art digital soundscape and life-like mannequins to take you back to World War II times. It is wheelchair accessible, has a tea room and plenty of parking (including buses).

The zoo is located within the grounds of the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens in the suburb of The Range. Animals on display at the zoo include chimpanzees, lion-tailed macaques, Asian small-clawed otters, koalas, wombats, crocodiles, dingoes and a variety of birdlife including cassowaries and emus. Zookeepers deliver talks and feed the animals at scheduled times during the day.

Rockhampton's Riverside Precinct is the heart of the city, offering the best views of the Fitzroy River ( Tunuba) and is an example of a modern, integrated urban design that sits alongside the city's heritage-listed street. Stroll Along the heritage soaked sandstone boulevard on Quay Street and across the lower bank boardwalk surrounded by lush plantings, public artworks and a picturesque boat dotted vista.

Mount Archer (Nurim) National Park is a must see when you visit Rockhampton. Wander through the trees on the Nurim Circuit elevated treetop boardwalk, sit back and relax with a picnic in the amphitheatre, walk or hike one of the many bushwalking trails throughout the national park or take a ride on First Turkey’s mountain bike trails. At the top of the mountain, there is also a kids adventure playground where they can weave through the totem poles, jump on the trampoline or swing amongst the trees.
