The National Museum of the American Indian is able to host the following types of rental events including: private events for corporations, non-profits, and foundations; fundraising events for 501(c)(3) non-profits; personal social events for adults and children aged 13 and older; wedding ceremonies and receptions; and business gatherings. The following activities are prohibited at the National Museum of the American Indian including: Political activities, including solicitations for candidates, campaign kick offs, or other activities directed toward the success or failure of a partisan candidate, political party, or partisan political group; Violations of any federal or local law regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages or other restricted substances; Sales of non-Smithsonian products or services; Gambling; Religious or civil ceremonies (other than those incidental to a wedding Rental); Solicitations by for-profit entities (for example, ticketed events advertised to the general public); and Film screenings. The National Native American Veterans Memorial also sits on the grounds of the museum in Washington, D.C. This tribute to Native heroes recognizes for the first time on a national scale the enduring and distinguished service of Native Americans in every branch of the US military.
