Facility Restrictions

• Events can begin any time after the museum closes at 6:00 p.m. Vendors are free to begin set up while the museum is open starting at 2:30 p.m. • The museum adheres to a "blonde bar" policy; to protect the building's original marble floors, red wine, juices and dyes are prohibited in most instances. Red wine is permitted at seated dinners only. • All vendors must be fully insured and able to produce certification of insurance. The museum has a list of preferred caterers, but it is nonexclusive. If you have a different caterer in mind, the museum is happy to work with them if they insured and have recently worked in a historic building.

Additional Information

The National Postal Museum is divided into galleries that explore America's postal history from colonial times to the present. Visitors learn how mail has been transported, emphasize the importance of letters, and spotlight the creation and wondrous diversity of postage stamps.
