Intercontinental Taiyuan

Jinci Temple, located in Jinci Town, Jinyuan District, Taiyuan City, formerly known as Prince of Jin Temple, initially known as Shu Yu of Tang Temple, is the earliest of Chinese well-preserved imperial gardens. It was built in honor of Shu Yu of Tang (made the Prince of Jin after his death), a feudal prince who founded the State of Jin, and his queen mother Yi Jiang. Inside Jinci Temple are dozens of historic buildings, which are intensive carriers of ancient Chinese architectural art. Of them, the “peerless works of art and four views” are worthy of appreciation for all visitors.

The Qiao’s Famaily Compound, located in Qiaojiabao Village, Qi County, Shanxi Province, founded in 1756, is a magnificent building complex. As a well-designed and exquisitely built traditional dwelling in North China, the Qiao’s Famaily Compound has a very high ornamental, scientific research and historical value. It is an unequalled repository of art, honored as “a pearl among northern vernacular dwellings”. As an old saying goes, “The imperial family has the Imperial Palace, while there is the Qiao’s Famaily Compound in the folk”, it enjoys high popularity in Shanxi, at home and abroad.

Pingyao Ancient City is located in Pingyao County in the central part of Shanxi Province. As the representative of Shanxi merchants culture, Pingyao Ancient City is one of the best-preserved ancient Chinese county seats, and was founded during the reign of King Xuan of West Zhou (827~782 B.C.). Pingyao Ancient City is known as one of the “four best-preserved ancient cities”, and one of China’s only two ancient cities included on the World Cultural Heritage List in their capacity as a whole ancient city. Large-scale live-action program Sighting of Pingyao tells a story about blood inheritance and endless multiplication. It shows people a complete picture scroll of extraordinary cultural, social, economic and religious development.

Wutai Mountain is the most famous of the four well-known Buddhist mountains in China, and the only well-known Buddhist mountain where Chinese Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism add radiance to each other. Wutai Mountain is located on Mount Taihang, which is honored as the “roof of North China”, and it’s named so because its five peaks rise straight from the ground like five skyscrapers, while the summits are as flat as a platform. Wutai Mountain is also known as Qingliang Mountain since it’s chilly in the mountain in most time and not hot even in midsummer. Wutai Mountain is a tourist attraction where there are natural scenery, ancient architectural art, historical relics, Buddhist culture, folk customs and summer resort.
