Hotel Stadslogement De Smederij van Steenwijk (The Blacksmith Inn) is a sustainable Heritage Hotel with a touch of vintage chic. The hotel is situated in an old forge, dating back from 1836. So we would like to add a little touch of history to your stay. Breakfast is served in the authentic, fully preserved Forge (Est. 1836). The hotel is located in the centre of the fortified city, with several small restaurants and pubs. And what’s more: Steenwijk is the very heart of National Park Drents Friesche Woud and National Park Nationaal Park Weerribben/Wieden. In those wetlands and lakedistrict you’ll find the ancient, pittoresq village Giethoorn: known as the Venice of Holland.
