Constructed in the 18th century for the Bourbon Kings of Naples, the palace's sweeping design was inspired by the Palace of Versailles, with breathtakingly extensive parks and manicured gardens, extravagant fountains and elegant cascading water features.

The most precious and interesting collection of fine arts coming from the many Correale houses in Naples and Sorrento, collected in the “Villa alla Rota, by Alfredo and Pompeo Correale, counts of Terranova. The Correale Museum was opened in May 1924, and its spread over 24 rooms on four floors. The artifacts are divided into sections and then into chronological order. This museum has been defined “the most beautiful provincial museum of Italy” visiting these rooms the visitors are transported into a journey back in time,where paintings from 17th and 18th centuries attributed to Artemisia Gentileschi, Battistello, Caracciolo, Solimena, Van Dyck, Kassel and Belvedere.

Naples International Airport Capodichino is inside the city district, about 10 km from the centre. Airport is linked up to Naples centre and to the harbour by 2 bus lines, which leave from the parking in front of the Arrivals Terminal. No Railway or Subway service from the Airport to the city centre. Curreri BUS leaves from Naples Airport to Sorrento every 2 hours ( trip lasts about 1 h),

Pompeii, Herculaneum, and nearby towns were probably first settled by Oscan-speaking descendants of the Neolithic inhabitants of Campania. Archaeological evidences indicate that the Oscan village of Pompeii soon came under the influence of the cultured Greeks who had settled across the bay in the 8th century BC.

According to tradition, Hercules, a strong pagan god, loved a nymph called Amalfi, but his love was short: she died and Hercules buried her in the most beautiful place in the world, and to immortalize her, he gave it her name. According to history, the town was founded after Constantino’s death; its origins come from Roman families.
