The Gardens are open for self guided walking tours from 9am-4pm Mondays through Fridays. Trees, shrubs, vines, ground covers, perennials and ornamental grasses now show how foliage textures and colors can combine for beautiful effects. Flower color comes primarily from blooming shrubs and perennials. This is truly a garden for all seasons.

The extensive sixteen-acre formal garden was planned and planted as construction of the house neared completion. The lawns and shrubs around the house were planted by the fall of 1917. The woodlands and the undeveloped Crystal Springs Watershed lands surrounding the estate provide a magnificent backdrop for the formal garden. The garden survives today as one of America’s finest historic gardens. The Bourn family asked Bruce Porter, known for his interiors, murals, stained glass windows, and garden designs, for help in making design decisions involving the layout of the site, the garden, and the outdoor structures. Porter shared Mr. Bourn’s appreciation of the natural California landscape and designed the formal garden to enhance the natural beauty of the landscape.

Gamble Garden is a non profit community horticultural foundation. Located in Palo Alto, south of SF, our 2.5 acre property includes an historic home, a carriage and tea house and formal and demonstration gardens. We are open to the public every day of the year for free.

Situated on over 60 acres in the heart of Silicon Valley -- 10 miles north of San Jose and 35 miles south of San Francisco -- Shoreline boasts one of the worlds largest tent structures, state-of-the-art sound and video systems, and helpful, friendly staff who make as many as 22,000 people per event feel safe, happy and comfortable. The 4,000 square foot Pavilion overlooks the pampered Chardonnay vineyard. The unique copper roof and open air feel makes the structure a Bay Area "one of a kind." The Hill House and it's adjoining terrace, hand crafted with Redwood panels, tile, and hardwood floors is an area used all year around. The terrace has glass panels lined on runners, allowing it to be closed off on cooler days without sacrificing the famous view. The Fogarty Board Room, a popular getaway for Silicon Valley companies, is a welcome retreat from the daily office grind. This room comfortably accommodates up to 20 guests and is equipped with most AV needs. The river rock fireplace is a welcome sight on a cool winter's day and a custom made pool table could be considered "Team Building."
