We can also arrange a visit to a local village for a kava ceremony with the chief. Guests will enjoy a barbecue of fresh local prawns and get to make their own billi billi (bamboo raft) to float downstream. The Nanuku Island Experience
The Nanuku Island Experience
Recreation
Our private island is located 20 minutes from Nanuku Resort and Spa in the famous Beqa Lagoon system of coral reefs. Here you’ll find a quintessential deserted island with sand beach, lush rainforest, swaying coconut palms and sandy trails meandering through the shaded canopy. Our island is just two acres in total and is surrounded by clear, azure waters and spectacular sandy beaches for private swimming, snorkelling and beachcombing. The surrounding reef system teems with marine life and exotic corals. Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch for the ultimate five-star castaway experience. Guided snorkel excursions and scuba diving can be arranged with one of the professional local dive operators.
Sigatoka Sand Dunes
Sigatoka Sand Dunes
These rugged and impressive sand dunes – Fiji’s first dedicated national park – are one of the country’s natural wonders and rich in archaeological history. Located west of the town of Sigatoka on the main island of Viti Levu, the dune system covers an area of 650 hectares. You can do a tour of the area, and try sand boarding.
Diving
Diving
Explore some of the world’s finest, and relatively undiscovered, diving where hard coral ledges drop off along walls into the blue abyss. Only 20 minutes offshore from Nanuku lies Beqa Lagoon (pronounced Beng-ga); a myriad of soft coral ablaze with every colour imaginable in long stands waving in the gentle currents. At the Bala Passage, massive walls and hard coral pinnacles rise from the centre of the passage. Shark feeding is another experience not to be missed. Divers get to encounter huge schools of trevally and, with the assistance of professional dive masters, can hand feed bull, black tip reef, grey reef and female tiger sharks – a close up encounter with one of Fiji’s biggest predators at the Shark Reef Marine Reserve. Swim with massive grouper, large giant trevally and wahoo, see the amazing local reef sharks and if you’re lucky spot turtles feeding along the edges. Nanuku works with highly experienced local dive operators.
Game Fishing

Trawl the outer reefs for the hard fighting wahoo, giant trevally, or something even bigger. On this magnificent, adrenalin-packed tour, you will troll for game fish including tuna, Spanish mackerel, and mahi-mahi. Experienced local operators will ensure a challenging fight with some of the ocean’s fastest fish, including the opportunity to fish for magnificent blue marlin in some of the ocean’s best hunting grounds.
