Music Row

Business district
1 block away
Nashville and music go way back. In the late 1700s, the city’s settlers reveled over their arrival with fiddle playing. The 1800s brought the Fisk Jubilee Singers, whose world-tours helped establish Nashville as a major music hub. The slick, produced “Nashville Sound” came of age in the 1950s and ’60s as country music studios began popping up on what would become Music Row — just a few steps from our front door. On today’s Music Row — 16th and 17th Avenues South— you’ll find numerous record labels, recording studios and related businesses. And while “The Row” has been graced by country music icons from Reba McEntire and George Strait to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, indie studios of various musical genres have found success; witness Taylor Swift, Kings of Leon and Paramore. For a blast-from-the-past experience, visit Music Row’s RCA Studio B, the spot where Elvis recorded more than 200 songs. If incredible food is music to your ears, reserve a spot at The Catbird Seat, one of Nashville’s top restaurants perched in the Music Row neighborhood.
