More
In the heart of “Blues City,” you'll find The Peabody Memphis, a magnificent hotel. Our convenient downtown location is just blocks from Memphis attractions like Beale Street, the Memphis Rock N Soul Museum, Gibson Guitar Factory and Fed-Ex Forum. Elvis Presley's Graceland, the National Civil Rights Museum, Memphis Zoo, STAX Museum of American Soul Music are nearby too. The Peabody Memphis offers 80,000 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate groups of 10 to 2,100. The 36 function spaces range from stately, wood-paneled conference rooms with fireplaces to the 1930s Art Deco-styled Skyway. The Peabody Rooftop offers breathtaking views of the Mississippi River and the Memphis skyline while the Continental Ballroom and adjacent Louis XVI feature ornate crown molding offering an elegant setting for any occasion. In addition, the Peabody Executive Conference Center features 12 private, luxury meeting rooms located exclusively on the 3rd floor that come with a wide array of services and technology. The original Peabody Hotel opened in 1869 as a symbol of the South's rebirth. Named for philanthropist George Peabody, it quickly became the business and social hub of Memphis. In 1925, The Peabody was rebuilt at its present location on Union Avenue. In 1933, General Manager Frank Schutt returned from a hunting trip and mischievously placed live duck decoys in the hotel's lobby fountain and the tradition of the March of The Peabody Ducks was born. In the mid-1970s, as Memphis experienced economic decline, The Peabody had to close its doors. But the "South's Grand Hotel" would not stay shuttered for long. The Peabody re-opened in 1981 after an extensive restoration, breathing new life into downtown Memphis.

Additional Information
In 2019, The Peabody Memphis completed a renovation of all 464 guestrooms and suites. Included in the multi-million dollar project were updated ‘soft goods’ and new bathrooms. The new décor mixes traditional with modern, creating a look of timeless elegance. Soft, calming neutrals and rich textures are accented by custom paint colors and commissioned wall art that subtly pay tribute to Memphis, the blues, Mississippi River sunsets and the Peabody Ducks. Bathrooms feel bright and spacious with upgraded lighting, white Carrara marble tiles on floors and tub surrounds, open shelving for storage, and Quartz vanity tops.
