Historical landmark

Designed by one of Britain's famous sons Sir Christopher Wren, St. Paul's Cathedral is a remarkable piece of architecture seated on Ludgate Hill in the heart of the city. Completed in 1711, the church rises to a heady 108 meters and boasts Portland stone and a striking dome shape that was inspired by St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. One of London's most visited sites, the cathedral was used for the marriage of Prince Charles to Lady Diana, and is the final resting site of former Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill, British Military Commander Charles Cornwallis and Lord Nelson. Visitors can climb the 530 steps leading to the Golden Gallery, where some of the best skyline views of London are to be found, or take a guided two-hour tour of the cathedral and crypt.

More

Kimpton Fitzroy London is now open following a multi-million pound refurbishment from top to toe. Originally opened in 1898 by the Frederick Hotels Company, and designed by Charles Fitzroy Doll, Kimpton Fitzroy London is a Grade II* listed ‘grande dame’ hotel that occupies the eastern flank of Russell Square in Bloomsbury. The new-look hotel will combine the rich heritage of the original building with a thoroughly modern sensibility. It will combine the glamour of its heritage with the character of its location, which connects the West End to the south with the City to the east and revitalised King’s Cross just five minutes away to the north.
