The barn is believed to be the oldest to host weddings in England and was once part of a beautiful abbey - the ruins of which still stand opposite. The barn was used by the monks to give 'alms' to passing travellers and pilgrims and as such has been classified as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The same historical league as Stonehenge! In the Threshing Barn, endless character greets guests with original oak doors and remarkable threshing machinery.
