Dianchi Lake, also known as Kunming Lake, is located at the south of Kunming City. It is also dubbed the “Sparkling Pear embedded in a Highland”. Dianchi, the eighth largest lake in China and the largest in Yunnan Province, is a freshwater fault lake at about 1886 meters above sea level. It is 39 km long from north to south, it is crescent-shaped, its natural banks are formed by mountains. You can enjoy the beauty of the lake's surrounding mountains from a boat or from the cable car, which Xishan Mountain with Haigeng Park.

The West Mountain (Xishan) is composed of Huating Mountain, Taihua Mountain, Luohan Mountain, etc. The altitude is 1900 to 2350 meters. In ancient times, it was also known as the Reclining Buddha, because of its resemblance to the Reclining Buddha. In another way, the West Mountain looks like a sleeping beauty lying on the shore of Dianchi Lake.

Green Lake is also known as the “Jade of Kunming City.” Originally an extension of Dian Lake, it later became its own independent lake due to declining water levels. Every November, red-headed seagulls from Siberia fly to Kunming for the winter, with some making Green Lake their home for these winter months. Come March and April of the following year, they leave Kunming and fly back to northeastern China and Siberia. It has become a tradition for locals and tourists alike to feed the seagulls at Green Lake during the winter and early spring.

Kunming Old Street, which stretches from Zhengyi Road in the east and Wuyi Road in the west, is the only historical district left in the city. The existing pattern of the old street was formed from the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, and the characteristic residential buildings of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China period have been preserved here. Among these historical buildings, the oldest is nearly 900 years old.
