The New Habour

Historical landmark
10 km away
Take the metro directly from the hotel in 12 minutes to The New Harbour. The New Harbour dates back from 1673 and began as a busy trading harbour. Ships from all over the world anchored here and life in the harbour area was dominated by seamen, public houses, girls and parties. The New Harbour became known as 'Nyhavn' (Newharbour)- one word instead of two. The pretty, crooked, old houses, where in times gone by tradesmen occupied, have been beautifully renovated into cosy indoor and outdoor restaurants. Business people, tourists and lots of other people can come to Nyhavn to enjoy a wonderful atmosphere, exellent culinary delights, a cold beer and jazz music. Chit chat a laughter fill the harbour with life and captivate the nostalgia.

The Opera, located at Holmen opposite the Royal Playhouse was inaugurated January 2005. It soon became known as one of the most modern and prominent Opera Houses in the world. The Opera provides the perfect setting for both substantial and more intimate events. The minimalistic and transparent foyer with Olafur Eliassons voluminous light sculptures is suitable for receptions, participant registration, breaks and break-outs during meetings in the house. The heart of the Opera House is the auditorium which seats between 1.492 and 1.703 spectators - depending on the orchestra pit configuration. Danish Radio Concert Hall

Theater
10 km away
Concert halls with world-class acoustics The concert venue offers four concert halls - from the great Studio 1 with room for 1,800 audiences to the intimate Studio 4. The concert halls are very different in architecture, but they all have world-class acoustics in common. Japanese acoustic engineer Yasuhisa Toyota, who is behind La Philhamonie de Paris, has insured that each concert hall has variable acoustics. Thus the sound can be adjusted and adapted to different ensembles and musical genres. Wide ranging repertoire DR Koncerthuset primarily offers classical concerts with DR's own orchestras and choirs: Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Danish Radio Sinfonietta, DR Big Band, DR Vocal Ensemble, DR Radio Choir, DR Radio Girls' Choir, DR Youth Ensemble and DR's children's choir. However, you can also attend small-scale jazz concerts in the foyer, chamber music, choral, rock, pop and symphony concerts, guest appearances and large scale rhythmic concerts.
