Sea Xplorer’s fast boat trips are a fantastic opportunity to discover the area from the water. The trips let you see an abundance of wildlife, making your way past seabirds, eagles porpoises, seals, otters and even wild goats. No two trips are ever the same, but the real stars of the show are the dedicated skippers.

Lots to learn and lots to gawk at, the whole family will find out about how to protect marine wildlife while exploring some of it first hand. The little ones will earn themselves a medal if they know their stuff. You’ll get to see the team hard at work at the sanctuary, nursing all the sick sea creatures back to health. There’s the chance to hold starfish, sea urchins and crabs at the interactive pool where one of the team members will be on hand to tell you all about them. All of the animals are well cared for and the staff know absolutely everything you could possibly want to know about the sea creatures. The summer months are peak season so this is the best time to visit, but don’t be put off by a winter visit. You’ll have a much more personal experience with the animals in the sanctuary and it’s a lot less busy. Even when there are only a handful of people visiting, the team will still run the public seal and otter feeding times, and tell you anything you all about the animals there.

From beginners to pros, the Ice Factor’s got climbing experiences to suit everyone. They host everything from aerial adventures, to Mountain Rescue training courses. And the highly qualified, skilled instructors will make sure you get your money’s worth. If you’re already a keen mountain climber but would like to develop some ice climbing skills, the instructors will be able to show you how. They welcome everyone, and even if it’s your first time climbing they’ll show you how to get started. Their café is full of tasty treats too with loads of cakes and bites to top up the energy levels after a challenging climb. Or their bar and grill is the spot for sampling some hearty local meals and winding down with a drink after your adventure.

If you’ve never heard of a Via Ferrata, you need to give it a try. The name translates to “iron road” and was the term given to the routes made by soldiers during WW1, to ensure safe passage when travelling around the Alps. The military technique has inspired routes throughout Europe and is becoming a popular activity, particularly for non-climbers who now have the chance to experience climbing and scaling rocks in perfect safety. You’ll make your way over ladders, cables, bridges and staples fixed onto the side of the bedrock amphitheatre, while securely strapped on with two karabiners. You’ll only ever take one off at a time to move forward so there’s no chance of a fall… you know this, but logic doesn’t always sink in when you’re 150 metres from the ground.

These fairways are home to some incredible views, so the real challenge is keeping your eye on the ball. The relaxed course is great for all levels, and with their day passes you can play as much as you like for a very reasonable price. It’s not just golfers that have a great time here. There are Segway and archery experiences to take part in, but even the roughest of golfers would enjoy the course for its views alone. There are nine-holes, but 18 tees. So for those not in the know, that basically means that if you’d like to do 18-holes, you can do the course twice around from different tees. It may be short, but the course is fairly challenging for beginners. And with the legend surrounding it, it’s a good bit of fun for the pros.
