General Post Office (GPO)

The General Post Office (GPO) was established on the 6th of January 1818. During the Irish Easter Rising the GPO served as the headquarters for the uprising Leaders. As a result, the building was badly damaged and was not repaired until some years later. To this day you can still see a few bullet holes on the exterior walls and pillars of the GPO.

National History Museum
