About us

Welcome to the Trinity River Audubon Center -- your gateway to explore the amazing resources of the 6,000-acre Great Trinity Forest, the largest urban bottomland hardwood forest in the United States. The Trinity River Audubon Center, located eight minutes from downtown Dallas, opened October 2008 and is part of the City of Dallas-Trinity River Corridor Project. The land, formerly an illegal dump site, has been reclaimed by the City of Dallas and beautifully demonstrates how an environmental liability can be transformed into a recreational and educational asset for people of all ages to enjoy. The Trinity River Audubon Center is THE new destination in Dallas for special parties and gatherings. With a state-of-the-art 21,000 sq. ft. center surrounded by wetlands, four miles of wheelchair-accessible hiking trails, and 140 self-park parking spaces, TRAC is a unique and welcoming destination for you and your guests. Several beautiful rooms are available to accommodate almost any special event.
