At Cartagena de Indias Convention Center we celebrate over 37 years of existence by deploying all of our building’s magnificence and class due to a recent investment of over $15.2 billion COP from Grupo Heroica SAS, the venue’s operator, whose main goal is to increase competitiveness while relying on a highly environmentally aware infrastructure. With modern facilities and highly multipurpose spaces, all the while respecting an architectural and traditional integrity, we have conquered more than three decades of holding governmental, national and international events of the highest level. The Cartagena de Indias Convention Center’s versatility allows us to host government summits, conferences, conventions, board meetings, product launch events, award shows or dream weddings, maintaining the same level of professionalism. We are the only venue in the country with a gold certification awarded by the International Association of Convention Centers (AIPC), as well as the Bureau Veritas quality management systems certification, validating our operational processes.

They are located between the fortresses of Santa Clara and Santa Catalina. They are considered the last project of the Spanish Colony that was fulfilled inside the walled city. It consists of 47 arches and 23 vaults. They were used by the Spanish military during colonization and during independence it served as a jail. After its restoration, they are now used for local handicraft and antique shops, bars and galleries.

The Bridge Gateway, better known as the Clock Tower Entrance, was the only access to the historic downtown from outlying Getsemaní by means of a drawbridge spanning the old San Anastasio channel. Constructed at the same time as the first closure of the city about 1631, the primitive portal did not have a long life since it was destroyed during the French siege of 1697.

The National Aviary of Colombia offers the possibility to get to know species of birds from all over the country, by immersing into their natural habitats. It simulates a tour of the country in only 1.5 kilometers.

The Bulwarks of Santo Domingo and Santiago, one of the first sections of the walled city to be constructed. They were developed to protect the strip of sand that joined them to Bocagrande, the most exposed part of the city and the place from which Drake had attacked in 1586.

The Rosario Islands (or Rosario Corals) is a small archipelago made up of about 28 islands, one of which is part of the insular zone of Cartagena de Indias. One of the country’s national natural parks was created on these islands to protect one of the most important coral reefs on the Colombian Caribbean coast.
