The Cape Cadogan, a National Monument was always an iconic building in Gardens; moving from a domestic dwelling it had been converted to offices and occupied by a communications company for 25 years when it came on the market in 2003 and was bought be Aine and Brian Clancy. They were committed to ensuring the iconic status and integrity of the building was maintained. During 2003/2004 they led the conversion of the building into the Cape Cadogan; a concept that would allow guests from across the world the opportunity to live a very different hotel experience. The Cape Cadogan opened its doors to its first guests in February 2004 and has since hosted in excess of 8,000 guests. This boutique hotel is well known for its comfortable, luxurious atmosphere where great emphasis is placed on providing our guests with local knowledge on events and experiences which are sometimes kept secrets by local resident Capetonians. We want our guests to discover the genuine side of Cape Town which is filled with delicious culinary experiences and warm hearted talented people all whilst being surrounded by breathtaking scenery of one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
