Events at the bcc are characterized by the use of future-proof technologies, the effective use of resources and sustainable event operations. In addition to an energy-efficient lighting system, electricity from 100 % renewable energy sources, a modern ventilation control system with heat recovery and the use of regional goods and services, employee satisfaction and the social aspects play an important role. Most of the technology, furniture and other equipment used in the bcc is already on site and owned by the bcc. This avoids thousands of truck kilometres per event. Reusable products and materials are preferred for exhibition and decorative construction. Due to many years of experience, food quantities can be precisely calculated in the bcc's own kitchen and overproduction avoided. In order to increase the visibility of the bcc's sustainability ambitions and to ensure continuous improvement, the bcc has been certified as a "High Performer" in 2023 as part of visitBerlin's "Sustainable Meetings Berlin" program, which is based on complex requirements in the areas of governance, risk & compliance, economy, environment and society.
