Additional details

The Sandymount Hotel, Dublin's largest family-run hotel, has been proudly owned and operated by the Loughran family for 70 years. It all began in 1955 when George and Rosaleen Loughran, a young couple from Northern Ireland, established a small bed and breakfast on Herbert Road. Over the ensuing decades, they diligently acquired neighbouring properties, gradually expanding their business into the 4-star luxury hotel it is today. In 2010, the hotel adopted the name The Sandymount Hotel, aligning itself with the prestigious nearby village of Sandymount, renowned for its charming village green, Strand, and Beach Promenade. Currently, The Sandymount Hotel is undergoing an €8 million refurbishment, which has already seen the renovation of public spaces including the lounges, bar, and restaurant, with bedroom renovations ongoing. Adding to its appeal, the hotel features a beautiful private garden, ideal for barbecues and al fresco dining whenever the Irish weather cooperates.
