Pillnitz Palace is located on the eastern outskirts of Dresden on the Elbe. The castle Pillnitz, the former summer residence of the Saxon royal family, offers the possibility for concerts in the manicured gardens or enjoy weddings, summer parties. In the castle itself, the Museum for Crafts and Arts re-opens in spring after the winter break, the Castle Musem shows a permanent exhibition telling of the details in the eventful history of this former royal Saxon summer residence that never wanted to be anything other than a highly noble “pleasure castle” far from all adversities of political everyday life in the residential city of Dresden.
