Es ist ein eklektischer Palast aus der Belle Epoque, der von Alajos Hauszmann, einem berühmten österreichisch-ungarischen Architekten, entworfen wurde. Er griff auf italienische Einflüsse der Renaissance, des Barock, der Gotik und des Jugendstils zurück. Es wurde im Mai 2006 als Luxushotel wiedereröffnet und jetzt, im Jahr 2020, wird das Hotel in das Portfolio der Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas aufgenommen.
