About us
Das 2004 eröffnete CCIB (Barcelona International Convention Centre) ist eines der größten Kongresszentren in Südeuropa und genießt eine bevorzugte Lage direkt am Mittelmeer und im neuen Technologie- und Geschäftsviertel von Barcelona. Das CCIB besteht aus zwei Gebäuden mit einem großartigen architektonischen Flair, dem Kongresszentrum, das so konzipiert wurde, dass Licht eine zentrale Rolle im Raum spielt und gleichzeitig seine visuelle Wirkung auf die Umgebung minimiert, und dem Forumsgebäude, das mit seinem riesigen 25 m hohen blauen Dreieck zu einem weltberühmten Wahrzeichen des modernen Barcelona geworden ist. Mit einer Bruttofläche von 100.000 m2 und einer Kapazität von bis zu 15.000 Teilnehmern zeichnet sich das CCIB durch die Flexibilität und Vielseitigkeit seiner Räume aus, die effizient zum Erfolg kleiner und großer Veranstaltungen beitragen. Single-use plastic items are not used at the CCIB anymore.
Does your hotel generate (onsite) or purchase (offsite) renewable energy (beyond your utility's standard offerings)? If yes, please describe your practices for generating or purchasing renewable energy.
100% of the energy consumed at the CCIB comes from renewable sources. 40% comes from exclusive generation wind parks within the region. The remaining 60% is also green energy, but even if the origin cannot be identified, it has the certificate from the National Markets and Competition Commission. Apart from that, the CCIB has 1 wind turbine and 5 solar panels that generate 1,710kWh per year approx.
