The Blue Pig Tavern
The Blue Pig Tavern
Recreation
Whether a guest of Congress Hall, a neighboring hotel or a Cape May native, all are welcome for breakfast, lunch or dinner in the distinctive dining rooms of the Blue Pig Tavern. Tucked in the corner of Congress Hall that fronts on Congress Place and Perry Streets, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Beloved by locals and visitors alike, there is no better place to enjoy classic American comfort food. In the warmer months, dine on our wonderful, secluded patio. In the cooler months, cozy up to our magnificent dining room fireplace. Executive Chef Jeremy Einhorn has implemented a delicious farm-to-table menu featuring fresh produce, herbs and eggs from our very own Beach Plum Farm, located less than 2 miles from the restaurant!

The Boiler Room
The Boiler Room
Nightlife
Down in the basement of Congress Hall you’ll find a late night music club that has a distinctly urban atmosphere that feels worlds away from the quaintness of Victorian Cape May. Built right into the foundation of the building, the original boiler pit for Congress Hall sits right next to the stage. The faceplate of that boiler is displayed on the back wall of the club. It’s a totally one-of-a-kind vibe with exposed brick walls, brushed steel bar and tables and an industrial aesthetic that that give it the feel of a big-city establishment. All this attracts a great mix of guests from all the Cape Resorts hotels as well as lots of Jersey shore locals. You’ll enjoy a lively crowd, great bands like The Dane Anthony Band and the Billy D. Light Trio and even better martinis and cosmopolitans. If you missed dinner, be sure to order from a fun menu of tavern favorites all served with some innovative twists. Chill by the bar and watch the action on one of the many TV monitors or get your groove on and take to Cape May’s most happening dance floor. There’s live entertainment Thursday through Sunday nights. Where but Cape May can you enjoy the cool vibe of an urban hotspot and on your walk back to your room, the gently lapping sound of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Brown Room
The Brown Room
Nightlife
Located at Congress Hall - Cape May's Living Room There isn’t a more sophisticated way to wrap up your day in Cape May than an evening at the Brown Room, a stylish lounge occupying the same spot as Congress Hall’s first legal post-Prohibition cocktail bar. Spend a little time deep in one of the comfortable leather chairs enjoying the fire and gentle buzz of friendly conversation around you and it’s not difficult to see why The Brown Room is called “Cape May’s Living Room.” It’s a great place rendezvous with friends after a day on the beach, and it’s also a great place to meet new friends since there’s something about the Brown Room that seems to encourage people to reach out and connect with each other. Maybe it’s the 1930s-inspired design with its famous zebra skin carpet, large palms, magnificent artwork and iconic fireplace with its tropical birds. Maybe it’s the friendliness of the bartenders and the delicious libations they pour. Or, maybe it’s the patrons themselves who always seem ready to share stories about Cape May or some interesting tips on what to see or do the next day. Open at noon each day, The Brown Room is the hub of Congress Hall.
