***WE ONLY HOST SCHOOL TOURS AND WEDDINGS ON THE PREMISES*** The Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha are Queensland's premier subtropical botanic gardens. These 52 hectare gardens are situated seven kilometres from the city centre. The Brisbane Botanic Gardens are a 15 minute drive from the city centre, with free parking available. Entry to the gardens' main carpark is from Mt Coot-tha Road. Attractions at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha include, Australian Plant Communities, Bonsai House, Cactus House, Fern House, Fragrant Plant and Herb Garden, Freedom Wall, Hide 'n' Seek Children's Trail, Japanese Garden, Lagoon and Bamboo Grove, rainforests, Tropical Display Dome. The Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha offers facilities and services so you can visit the gardens to relax, or to learn about the plant collections and attractions. Shaded areas at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens are a popular place for picnics. The Brisbane Botanic Gardens offers beautiful subtropical settings for your wedding ceremony. There are three different lawn sites to choose from.

The Brisbane Botanic Gardens officially opened in 1976. Work to build these gardens at the foot of Mount Coot-tha began in 1970. The Brisbane City Council decided to establish a new botanic gardens after eight major floods swept though the City Botanic Gardens between 1870 and 1974. This open woodland area on the eastern slopes of Mount Coot-tha was selected as a suitable flood-free site. Plant collections at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens include a series of distinctly different gardens arranged in themes and geographical displays. The recently developed Australian Plant Communities collection occupies a total area of 27 hectares. The Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha offers educational programs for students from prep to year 12.
