Local Attractions

Jordan Museum

Museum
15 minutes away
Presenting the history and cultural heritage of Jordan in a series of beautifully designed galleries, The Jordan Museum intends to enable its guests to experience Jordan in a contextual setting.

Mount Nebo

Historical landmark
45 minutes away
Mount Nebo is an elevated ridge in Jordan, approximately 817 metres (2,680 ft) above sea level, mentioned in the Hebrew Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land. The view from the summit provides a panorama of the Holy Land and, to the north, a more limited one of the valley of the River Jordan. The West Bank city of Jericho is usually visible from the summit, as is Jerusalem on a very clear day.

Rainbow Street

Shopping
10 minutes away
Rainbow Street is one of the historic streets of Jabal Amman. It is the hangout of many locals, and the busiest street in Amman over the weekend. Guest can visit the Jordan River Foundation Show Room for souvenirs and handicrafts made by women around Jordan or the Trinitae Soap House for natural soap and beauty products made in Jordan. Of course there are plenty more shops for guests to choose from.

Wadi Mujib

Recreation
1 hour away
Near the East coast of the Dead Sea, the Mujib Reserve is the lowest-altitude nature reserve in the world, with its spectacular array of scenery. The reserve is located within the deep Wadi Mujib gorge which enters the Dead Sea at 410 metres below sea level. This 1,300-metre variation in elevation, combined with the valley's year-round water flow from seven tributaries, means that the Wadi Mujib enjoys a magnificent biodiversity that is still being explored and documented today. Water hiking through Wadi Mujib is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience for guests and a guide is recommended.

Downtown Amman

Shopping
20 minutes away
Visit Downtown Amman for a more traditional shopping experience. Ammanis are welcoming people, and they are happy to have you explore this vibrant core of their home and workplace. Downtown is the traditional market area of Amman where you can find almost everything – and for much less than you would pay in the western suburbs. As in many markets, the initial price is usually higher than will be accepted, so feel free to bargain with a smile.

Ajloun castle

Historical landmark
1 hour away
This rich history of Ajloun is reflected in the archaeological ruins scattered in the woodlands and surrounding villages. Also, the area’s cool forests, beautiful picnic areas, and extensive walking trails attract guests throughout the April through October season. Today, there are more than 10 villages surrounding the Ajlun Reserve. Some villagers are involved in farming crops such as grapes, figs and olives. Don’t forget to pass by the Ajlun Castle, more formally known as Qal'at Ar-Rabad, which is the major ancient monument.

Amman Citadel

Historical landmark
30 minutes away
Roman, Byzantine and Umayyad ruins can be found in the Citadel, which is the place to visit if you’re pressed for time and want to experience Jordan’s history in one afternoon. The Citadel is also home to a Byzantine church, the Umayyad Palace and the Roman Temple of Hercules. The Roman Temple also offers spectacular city views, especially at sunset. Visit the Jordan Archaeological Museum—also inside the Citadel—and you’ll find ancient coins and the Dead Sea bronze scroll on exhibit.
