Cornerstone

Shopping
10 minutes away
Cornerstone Gardens is an ever-changing series of walk-through gardens, showcasing new and innovative designs from the world’s finest landscape architects and designers. The first such gallery-style gardens in the United States, the nine-acre Cornerstone Gardens was created as an inspiration and resource for people interested in gardens, garden design and art. Inspired by the International Garden Festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire in France, Cornerstone Gardens aims to create a cultural and creative haven, celebrating the connection between art, architecture and nature. The gardens contribute to the art, philosophy and future of garden design; they focus on themes and ideas, establishing or uncovering new directions in garden design and art. Continually in a state of evolution, some garden installations will be in place for a season, while others will remain for several seasons. In addition to individual gardens by select landscape architects and designers, a book is available for sale on site that provides information on the designers and the process of creating each of their installations. In addition to the shops and gardens, Cornerstone hosts educational seminars on landscape architecture and garden design, as well as related special events.

Barhtolomew Park Winery

Historical landmark
10 minutes away
Founded in 1994 by the Bundschu family -- sixth generation Sonoma vintners and proprietors of California's oldest family winery, Gundlach Bundschu -- with a vision to produce handcrafted, site-specific wines, Bartholomew Park's 21-acre Estate Vineyard is located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain range in Sonoma Valley. The unique setting of this vineyard, tucked up against Arroyo Seco, enjoys, warm temperatures, constant breezes and excellent drainage typical of higher elevation sites. This treasure trove of an estate vineyard has been completely replanted in recent years, is farmed organically, and received organic certification in 2005. Bartholomew Park Winery works closely with Vineyard Manager Phil Coturri to ensure that handwork in the vineyard and in the cellar translates to a faithful expression of this ancient alpine range and its historic vineyard site. These wines are sold exclusively through our tasting room and wine club. Visit us daily from 11am - 4:30pm. Private tastings and tours available daily, by appointment.

Petaluma Vil. Premium Outlets

Shopping
18 mi. away
This is part of the Chelsea Premium Outlets centers which boasts 25 such venues across the United States. In Northern California alone, they have one in Gilroy, which is the largest. One at the American Tin Cannery; you can read my report on this outlet at: Tin Cannery Outlets. Another 3 can be found in Napa, St. Helena and Folsom. It is very difficult to find oneself in the proximity of outlets and not stop. The outlet here is larger than the one at Pacific Grove. It features some of my favorites like Jones New York, Hanes & Bali, Mikasa, Nine West (where I made a killing last time with leather shoes) and Wilsons Leather Outlet where they always have unusually elegant styles.
