We are writing to let you know that, after much deliberation, we have decided to cancel the ACTE Global Summit in Macau on 26-27 August 2019. As members of the global corporate travel community, we take duty of care very seriously, and with many of our attendees, sponsors, vendors and staff scheduled to fly through Hong Kong for the event, we are concerned that ongoing civil unrest in the city poses a risk to their safety.
We have carefully evaluated all available information to come to this decision. In the last week we have seen the number of companies instituting travel bans for the area rise. More than two dozen countries have issued Travel Advisories about Hong Kong, protests have been planned for 17, 18 and 25 August, and, most recently, it is possible that there may be military action to quell the unrest.
ACTE is fully refunding registration fees to all paid attendees. You will receive an email within the next five days (5) with details about the processing options for your refund. If you have any questions regarding this cancellation notice, please email: ACTEMacau@acte.org.
We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause but believe this is the best course of action to ensure your safety given these uncontrollable circumstances.
