The LAVCA Private Capital Update is a bi-weekly email featuring industry news, research, events, and updates on investors from private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, and family offices in Latin America.
|
Public Policy: Last week LAVCA, alongside ColCapital and Brigard & Urrutia, held a meeting with Colombian policy makers to discuss updated regulations for private equity and venture capital funds and implications for the local industry. The draft decree, Proyecto de Decreto de Fondos de Capital Privado, gives PE/VC funds separate dedicated regulation based on existing laws.
Venture Capital: In November, LAVCA participated in Smart Capital Colombia, hosted by Ruta N and Capitalia Colombia. READ LAVCA's update on the Colombian startup ecosystem and download LAVCA's presentation here.

LAVCA is collecting data for a private capital fund terms and compensation report.
The aim of this initiative is to produce a benchmarking tool for fund managers who are active across private capital asset classes in Latin America.
Participating fund managers will take a 10 minute online survey (findings will be aggregated for publication and all responses will remain confidential) and will receive a COMPLIMENTARY copy of the findings.
Responses will allow LAVCA to identify preferred fund terms and compensation strategies currently used by private capital fund managers investing in the region.
PARTICIPATE: If you are a fund manager active in the region and would like to participate in the survey, please contact Natalia Valencia or Eduardo Roman.
