XmasWMCA

Greetings!

I was looking online for a beautiful winter scene, and I then I came across this!  I thought, yes!  This is my wish for all of you.  Less stress and the very best.

It’s that time of year when most can start to wrap up some lose ends at work and maybe take a few days to catch up at home, make holiday plans, spend some time with loved ones and just maybe some time for yourselves.

I know this holiday season will look much different for many of you.  Maybe your family gatherings are via Zoom, or a speaker phone.  But the magic of Christmas is still alive! Those who have small children at home will still be woken to sheer excitement of Santa having come.  The spirit of giving, the food, the feeling of what the true meaning of Christmas is - still alive!  It can happen even if we aren’t physically able to be with our friends and family.

I’ve noticed or been made aware that some of you are dealing with the effects of Covid this season and my heart goes out to you and your families.  It is a reminder how precious and special life really is.  This holiday season, I will be reflecting on the importance of my friends and family and how I can be better at making the most of any opportunity I have to reach out and connect with them, even if it’s not in person.  So enjoy the egg nog, the cookies, the ham, the steak or whatever holiday treats make you smile.

Merry Christmas – Happy Holidays, however you choose to celebrate!

Due to the continuation of the VOCID-19 virus, we have made the tough decision to continue with a virtual Institute for 2021.  Courses will be delivered in two formats: Most courses will be held live via Zoom with a couple courses being held online through self-guided learning.
Pros of Virtual Learning
- Learn from the comfort of your own home or office
- No lodging or travel costs
- Easy digital access to learning materials
- Less time away from the office

Injury Illness Reporting and 2% Fire Dues Application for Department of Safety and Professional Services

It is that time of the year again! As 2021 starts, there are two things your municipality needs to complete for Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).  Both the Injury Illness Report/ OSHA 300A Log and 2% Fire Dues can be completed in the new online portal, eSLA. It is the same process as last year for both reports.

  • Portal opens January 1, 2021.
  • Injury Illness Report is due by March 1st .
  • 2% Fire Dues is due March 31st and your fire chief(s) will also have to complete their side by this date as well.

Click here to go to the Portal and log in using your existing username and password, or if you’re new to the portal, please create log in as a ‘New DSPS Customer’ and contact your district inspector.

If you have submitted the report in the past, you will be receiving an email with directions on how to log in and submit both reports. If you have questions and need to contact your inspector, please click on the names below to find contact info:
