2017 New York Dairy Farm Business Summary Released
|
The 2017 New York Dairy Farm Business Summary is now released. Summarizing the annual business performance of 157 full-time dairy farms for 2017, the publication provides insights into the range of performance across the participating farms in 2017.
Highlights of the publication include:
- Progress of the same farms from 2016 to 2017
- Comparison of the top 10 percent of farms based on financial performance to the average farm
- Consolidated financial statements and financial analysis of the average dairy farm
- Business characteristics and financial performance for five different herd size ranges
- Selected business and financial factor business charts for the average farm, top 10%, and five herd size groups

Agriservice Awards Presented at the Great NYS Fair
|
NYS Agriculture Commissioner Richard Ball and Cornell CALS PRO-DAIRY Specialists presented the PRO-DAIRY Agriservice Awards to George Mueller, Willow Bend Farm, Clifton Springs; Gerald R. Bertoldo, DVM, Batavia; and Peggy Murray, Copenhagen during the Dairy Day Recognition and Awards breakfast on August 30 at the NYS Fair. These awards are given in appreciation and recognition of outstanding contributions to NYS agriculture through support of PRO-DAIRY.

Dairy Improvement Conference:
Remaining Competitive in an Ever Changing Global Market

Cornell CALS PRO-DAIRY is partnering with Penn State Extension,
Pennsylvania Center for Dairy Excellence (CDE), and leaders in the dairy
industry to host the first-ever Dairy Business Improvement and Planning Conference November 7 and 8 at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg-Hershey,
Grantville, PA. Ag Choice Farm Credit is offering four SmartStart credits to participants.
The conference provides a unique
opportunity for participants to better understand the current state of
the industry from industry experts, take a glimpse into the future, and
learn how other producers found success by developing their own plan and
taking action. This event will provide the opportunity, information,
and tools for participants to take a realistic look at their business,
consider alternatives, and take steps to develop their own unique
formula for success.
