The Washington-based Organization for International Investment (OFII) recently released state-level data on foreign direct investment (FDI), revealing great news for the state of Florida!
- Florida now ranks #4 in the U.S. in employment by foreign-owned companies (348,800 jobs) – our highest ranking ever.
- We rank #2 among all U.S. states (after Utah) for the fastest FDI employment growth over the past five years (43.8 percent), which means we outgrew all the major states in FDI employment.
- 1 out of every 5 FDI jobs in Florida are in the manufacturing sector.
- The state remains #1 in FDI employment among states in the Southeast.

Export Sales Mission to Morocco
April 14 - 18, 2019 | Casablanca, Morocco
Enterprise Florida will lead a delegation of Florida manufacturers and services providers to further trade relations between Florida and the gateway to sub-Saharan Africa, Morocco. Morocco is the sixth largest economy in Africa and a top destination for foreign investment and trade. Enterprise Florida is collaborating with the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) in Casablanca to coordinate the mission and facilitate business-to-business meetings utilizing the U.S. Commercial Service’s Gold Key Service for the Florida participants. Small and medium-sized companies may qualify for an Enterprise Florida Gold Key Grant which will offset 100% of the Gold Key Service fee.

Doing Business in Colombia Roadshow

In preparation for the upcoming Export Sales Mission to Colombia Enterprise Florida will be hosting a Doing Business in Colombia Roadshow from May 14 – 17, 2019.
With nearly $7 billion in two-way trade, Florida accounts for 24 percent of all U.S. trade with Colombia – more than any other state. Florida exported nearly $4.4 billion of merchandise to Colombia in 2018, making the country Florida’s second-largest export market. Florida companies looking to increase their footprint in the Colombian market are well-positioned to benefit from these opportunities!
During the roadshow, companies will learn about:
- The economic, political, and social environment of the country
- Best export opportunities for Florida companies
- Application process for the upcoming Export Sales Mission and eligibility requirements for the Gold Key/Matchmaker Grant that covers 100% of the Participation Fee for qualified companies

Export Sales Mission to Vietnam

Enterprise Florida will lead a delegation of Florida manufacturers and services providers to further trade relations between the U.S. and Vietnam. The U.S. is now Vietnam’s largest export market and a major source of foreign direct investment, helping fuel Vietnam’s remarkable economic growth. Enterprise Florida is collaborating with the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to coordinate the mission and facilitate business-to-business meetings utilizing the Gold Key Service for the Florida participants. International Paris Air Show 2019

FIME 2019

Sydney International Boat Show

Export Sales Mission to Colombia

Since the implementation of the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement in May 2012, U.S. and Florida exporters have seen tariffs eliminated on over 80 percent of consumer and industrial goods exports to the country.
