As we come to late summer in New England, we see things like umbrellas at outdoor cafés, folks having picnics on the beaches, and the Red Sox playing at Fenway. All that reminds me how lucky I am to live in this beautiful part of the world. I also feel lucky to be part of this industry and this MPI chapter. We have seen turmoil over the last year and a half, and continue to maneuver through it as things evolve with COVID-19 and regional restrictions. Yet, as we look for the silver lining, resilience, kindness, and strength are all around. For MPI New England in particular, we have a group of volunteers who have been selfless in their gifts of time and talent, and without whom our chapter wouldn’t be what it is.
Chapter events like July’s Education program at Park Plaza and this month’s Networking Night at Dillon’s were planned and executed by committee volunteers. As President-elect, I'm lucky enough to see the efforts of the various committees along the planning process. I’m most impressed by each person’s continued focus on the member experience- keeping the member in mind at all times.

If you’re interested in getting involved with your chapter, the Fall Membership Event at Granary Tavern on September 22 is a can’t-miss opportunity. The goal of that meeting is twofold; educate current members about the various committees and volunteer opportunities small and large, as well as show gratitude to our current volunteers for their dedication- current volunteers attend for free!
