Presentation Type - Concurrent Session: These 45-minute sessions should include opportunities for presenter-audience interaction.
Based on feedback from previous conferences, successful sessions include some or all the following elements:
- Classroom-ready resources that educators can immediately duplicate in their classroom
- Creative strategies for teaching key terms in economics and personal finance
- Innovative ideas for teaching challenging topics
Presentations must be educational and informative in nature. Commercial solicitation is prohibited. If a proposal's primary objective is to advertise books, resources, or services for sale, we will instead encourage you to participate as an exhibitor.
Areas of Interest
We are seeking proposals in the following:
- Elementary and Middle School: Recognizing that economics and personal finance typically are not taught as stand-alone subjects at these grade levels, we are particularly interested in inter-disciplinary content and teaching strategies
- Economics: Proposals that support educators in an economics-specific classroom
- Personal Finance: Proposals that support educators in a personal finance-specific classroom
- Social Studies: Proposals that integrate economics or personal finance concepts in history, geography, and/or civics
- Post-Secondary Readiness: Proposals that integrate economics or personal finance concepts in subjects such as CTE, business, marketing, etc.
- Innovative Technology: Proposals that introduce innovative technology tools to teach economics and personal finance, including AI
- Culturally Responsive Teaching: Proposals that recognize and give educators the tools to teach to a wide variety of students in any K-12 classroom, from different backgrounds, experiences, geographies, etc.
- The Gulf Coast region: Proposals that address the interests and curriculum standards of teachers and the states surrounding New Orleans

Note: All communications regarding this proposal will be sent to the first speaker listed (the Chair). We plan to notify applicants by May 1, 2025. Note: the number of presenters on a proposal can be no more than three.
