About the Event
The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) is excited to announce the call for proposals for our 18th annual Living Future 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia at the OMNI Hotel and Conference Center at CNN Plaza on May 7 - 9, 2024 .
The Living Future Conference is ILFI’s annual flagship event that showcases leadership and solutions, inspires action, and builds a networked community to advance the regenerative movement. Each year, the programming explores the urgent issues that we face at the intersection of climate, health, and equity in the built environment. Attendees gain valuable insights, connections, and solutions to their most pressing issues in advancing regenerative development through the leadership, projects, products and solutions that they discover at this inspiring annual event. The event draws a diverse and impactful community of thought leaders and change agents all actively engaged in the built environment sector, including: architects, urban planners, landscape architects & designers, facility owners and operators, real estate developers, AEC professionals, product manufacturers, policy makers, interior designers, educators, and advocates for regenerative development.
Attendees of the Living Future Conference co-create a positive, achievable vision for a Living Future, and collaboratively work to build solutions with each other to the most daunting global issues of our time. Seeking proposals that dive into an exploration of the interconnectedness between human and ecological health. Encouraging sessions that illuminate the profound connections between regenerative development and the well-being of both people and the planet. Help attendees discover the transformative potential of designing spaces that not only support human health but also enhance the vitality of our ecosystems. Encouraging proposals that explore all angles of this theme, including biophilic design, indoor air quality advancements, healthy materials innovation, and holistic strategies that promote physical well-being and ecological resilience. Illuminating an Equitable Future
Seeking proposals that explore the pivotal intersection between regenerative development and social equity. Encouraging proposals that challenge the status quo and redefine what it means to build inclusive, just, and equitable communities. We welcome proposals for dynamic sessions that shine a spotlight on affordable housing breakthroughs, community-driven engagement models, the fight for racial and environmental justice, visionary approaches to equitable access and empowerment, and economic opportunities that arise from regenerative development. Help attendees discover their potential as an agent of change and lean in to the transformative power of equitable design and development.

This 90-minute education session format ensures an engaging and informative session for participants, promoting knowledge sharing and networking (e.g. deep dive, masterclass, immersion). Example agenda:
Workshop
This 90-minute education session, workshop-style format allows for active participant engagement, collaboration, and practical application of concepts, methods, and tools. (e.g. hands-on lab, playground, sandbox, collaboration space). Here is an example agenda:
Round Table
This 90-minute education session format fosters exploration of critical questions and promotes meaningful dialogue in an inclusive environment that encourages diverse perspectives, invites active participation, and generates valuable insights. FutureFlow
This format is a 15-minute talk included in a mainstage event featuring 4 forward-thinking talks on regenerative design and innovation. The short-form format emphasizes concise and impactful delivery, focusing on a strong opening, a clear core message, engaging storytelling, and a compelling closing. Visual aids, if used, are minimal to keep the focus on excellent presenter delivery. This is not classified as an educational session. Here is an example talk outline:

Session Review & Selection Considerations
As the Living Future Conference continues to grow, we are thrilled to receive an increasing number of session proposals each year. However, with this growth comes heightened competitiveness. We hope to help you prepare the strongest possible proposal by sharing the session selection criteria and curatorial considerations. We aim to curate a conference program that delivers outstanding value and transformative experiences to our attendees.
Relevance: Clearly connected to the chosen focus area and offers content that is important for advancing the regenerative movement.
Innovation: Offers creative, cutting-edge, innovative, or provocative ideas and approaches to challenges faced in regenerative development. After attending this session, participants would have new inspiration, motivation, and tools to take back with them.
Diversity: Enhances the diversity of perspectives offered at the conference through underrecognized speaker(s), project types, and session topics & learning objectives.
Presentation & Engagement: Clear, concise, well-organized proposal. The session description describes an engaging session for attendees.
Speaker(s) Expertise and Experience: Subject matter expertise and/or relevant experience that aligns with the proposed content.
As we curate the final program, we are dedicated to selecting excellent sessions that form a collectively well-rounded mix of valuable content. Our aim is to create a program that not only embraces but also celebrates the rich diversity of voices, perspectives, and experiences within the regenerative development industry.

October 3, 2023: LF24 Registration opens

November 30, 2023: Signed speaker agreements and speaker conference registrations due

Speaker Benefits
In appreciation of their contribution to the success of the event, accepted conference speakers are eligible for exclusive benefits. They can choose between a complimentary pass for their session only or a 50% discounted conference pass to attend the full event. Past speakers have valued the opportunity to create lasting business relationships, bring awareness to their work, and inspire positive change for a more sustainable future. Moreover, this year's conference pass holders will enjoy the added advantage of one year of Living Future Membership, available as either a first-time membership or a renewal. Speaker pricing for full conference pass (50% discount) is $700. Passes must be purchased by November 30th 2023.
