Envision University invites authors to submit research and clinical practice articles for peer review. Article submissions should be written in Standard English, utilizing AMA Manual of Style for all reference citations. For more information, visit the [AMA Manual of Style website.]

Submission Instructions

  • Click Make a Submission button.
  • Create a new account for submissions to Visibility 2024 by selecting login; then select Need to Create an Account? link.  This new account will not effect your other Envision accounts; it is only for submissions to Visibility 2024.
  • Enter Author's Details: profile and contact information; biography; profile photo.
  • Author disclosures and acknowledgements.
  • Add the details of any other co-authors who will by selecting Add Co-Author.
  • Enter your Submission Details:
    • Submission Type: In the drop-down menu, select either Clinical Case Study, Clinical Practice, Practice Management or Research Abstract.
    • Clinical Case Study Presentation of a patient case study (HIPAA compliant, de-identified patient information) that shows how a presenting problem was approached with vision rehabilitation interventions, follow-up and/or referrals.
      • Length: Approximately 2,000 words
      • Figures and Tables: May include up to three photos, figures or tables
    • Research Abstract submissions contain a clear statement of hypothesis, an explanation of methods, and a report of data that unequivocally test the hypothesis and a brief discussion of their implications. Include original results that will advance the field.
    • An early concept, short research abstract that encompasses the exploratory stages of vision research and its potential for vision rehabilitation clinical interventions, technology applications, or surgical, pharmaceutical or gene therapy interventions. Include hypothesis, Purpose, Research Methods, Results and Conclusions; some articles may include discussion and future directions of research.  Approximately 1,000 words.
      • Human Subjects Research: IRB and HIPAA compliant de-identified patient information. If animals are used in study, the acknowledgement section should describe the animal care protocol that was followed, name the institution that sponsored the study and identify relevant IRB approval.
      • Biomedical research involving animals must conform to generally accepted principles of animal maintenance and care, such as those of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). 
      • Figures and Tables: May include up to four photos, figures or tables
    • Clinical Practice: Theory, themed focus, or general article highlighting rehabilitation interventions or relevant issues facing the vision rehabilitation field.
      • Length: Approximately 2,500 – 5,000 words
      • Figures and Tables: May include up to two photos, figures or tables
    • Practice Management Issues
      • Article highlighting practice management issues in delivery of patient care in the field of vision rehabilitation, models of care delivery or vision rehabilitation interventions of significance to the vision rehabilitation and research fields.
      • Length: Approximately 2,500 words
      • Figures and Tables: May include up to three photos, figures or tables
    • Submission Title

    • Topic: In the drop-down menu, select a topic area.
    • File Uploads: Upload both your manuscript and your current curriculum vitae in the file upload.
  • Review and submit your submissions. You will be able to log in and edit your submissions through the submissions deadline.
  • Articles and abstracts submitted will be reviewed in approximately 30 days, with decisions to make edits, to accept or to decline the submission.

Multiple submissions by a single author or multiple authors are accepted and encouraged.
