Submit a Session Proposal for the 2024 GIH Annual Conference on Health Philanthropy
We invite you to submit a session proposal for the 2024 Grantmakers In Health Annual Conference on Health Philanthropy, to be held in-person in Portland, Oregon on June 4-6, 2024. The theme of the conference is Bold Results Through Courageous Action.
This year, we are highlighting innovative programming and risk-taking to improve health, advance health equity, and transform systems of care. We’re looking for new initiatives or collaborations that yielded significant impact and/or important lessons learned for philanthropy and public health. We are particularly interested in sessions that reflect our Strategic Plan, which centers health equity and social justice along with themes of access and quality, community engagement and empowerment, population health, and philanthropic growth and impact. We are also interested in sessions that focus on one of GIH’s policy priorities.
What Makes a Strong Proposal?
The most successful, highly rated annual conference sessions include new voices and diverse perspectives; allow for thoughtful reflection and candid conversation; avoid traditional meeting formats; and actively inform, inspire, and engage in-person participants.
Who Can Submit Session Proposals?
Health funders administering charitable grantmaking, such as foundations, corporate giving programs, and other grantmaking institutions; operating foundations; regranting institutions; federal, state, and local government agencies; national and regional philanthropy serving organizations; academic institutions working on projects related to philanthropy or health; and philanthropic advisors that manage philanthropic funds such as banks, trust companies, or private firms.
How Do I Submit a Session Proposal?
Click "Submit Proposal" to submit a session proposal for GIH’s annual conference. To submit a proposal, you will need to create a username and password, and complete all required fields.
When Are Session Proposals Due?
Proposals are due by 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, October 27, 2023.
When Will I Be Notified About My Session Proposal?
You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours acknowledging receipt of your completed proposal. You will be notified about the status of your proposal by late January 2024. GIH may request that alterations be made to a proposed session so that it more closely reflects the goals and objectives of the annual conference.
